SUMMER MINI CAMPS
Ovation Academy musical theater Mini Camps are a great way to dive into musical theater over the summer, without the full commitment a summer camp or class requires. No memorizing lines, no complex blocking or technical elements – just the pure joy of learning and performing!
Each mini camp lasts one week, Monday-Friday. Mini camps take place at our brand new Ovation Studio space at 7419 Madison St, Forest Park.
All mini camps culminate in a 15-minute showcase for friends and family on the last day, during camp hours.
AGES 5 – 7
BROADWAY KIDS MINI CAMP
MONDAY, JUNE 16 – FRIDAY, JUNE 20 FROM 12:30-2:00 PM
It’s time to sing and dance! Each day, we’ll learn a selection of kid-friendly musical numbers and practice singing and dancing together to tell a story. We’ll play theater games, learn dance steps, and begin our musical theater journeys together. On the final day of camp, we’ll invite our families to enjoy a 15-minute showcase!

AGES 8 – 11
BROADWAY DANCE INTENSIVE
MONDAY, JULY 28 – FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 FROM 10:00-11:30 AM
It’s bootcamp for Broadway dancers! Learn essential body positioning, technique, and dance combos that will prepare you for any musical theater role! Learn how to pick up challenging choreography quickly, and how to use your body to tell a story and convey character.

AGES 12 – 17
ADVANCED DANCE INTENSIVE
MONDAY, JULY 28 – FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 FROM 12:30-2:00 PM
Nail that drill team audition, get into showchoir, improve your confidence for JTF, or just spend a week building your dance skills for fun. Be ready to work hard and strive for excellence as you tackle challenging combos and master new steps.

Q: What is a Mini Camp?
A: A Mini Camp is a hybrid between a class and a summer camp. Mini camps are condensed into one week, to accommodate busy summer schedules. But, unlike a full summer camp, mini camps do not involve putting on a full production with memorized lines, costumes, and technical elements. Mini camps last 1.5 hours/day, versus 3-6 hours/day for full camps.

Q: When is my child’s culminating Showcase?
A: Each Mini Camp will end with a 15-minute Showcase, open to family to attend at no cost. The Showcase will take place during the final 15 minutes of the last day of camp, and then your camper will go home with you.
