SHELBY PARKER
Shelby McKay Parker is a performing artist specializing in acting, singing and dance. She graduated from The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University with her BFA in Musical Theater in 2022. She then went on to obtain her MFA in Acting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she graduated in June of 2024. Her Masters thesis was titled “Roaring Truth: Unleashing the Free Voice in Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves.” Some of her favorite projects include Spring Awakening (Wendla), Macbeth (Banquo), The Wolves (#7) and Guys & Dolls (Miss Adelaide) where she became a semi-finalist for the 2021 KCACTF awards.
While at SCAD, Shelby was a teaching assistant for a speech and accent course taught by Professor Jennefer Morris. Other teaching accreditation includes summer camps with Savannah Stage Company and the South Carolina Children’s Theater. She believes in the transformative power of storytelling, and strives to ignite curiosity and “outside the box thinking” within the students she works with. Shelby recently moved to the Windy City of Chicago, where she is signed with Stewart Talent Agency. When she isn’t auditioning, she can be found choreographing dances in her kitchen, putting together fun outfits (thank you, Pinterest) and reading plays!
