Savanna Rae

Savanna Rae is a Chicago based actor, playwright, and dialect coach. She has had a deep passion for dialects since she was 15 and learning a Scottish dialect for a production of Brigadoon. Since then, she has become proficient in 7 different dialects (not including her own) and her love for the music of how we speak has only deepened. In 2015, Savanna wrote a solo show, Daughters of Ire, which was nominated Best New Work of 2015 (Broadway World Chicago) and continues to tour. In Daughters Savanna showcased 3 of her favorite dialects: Galway, Northern Irish, and Isle of Skye. She has coached dialects for young artists through the Beverly Arts Center, The Miracle Center, and through private coaching. As an actor, Savanna has been seen in Short Shakes! Macbeth and Julius Caesar (Chicago Shakespeare Theater), Pineapple (Irish Theatre of Chicago), columbinus (Random Acts), Julius Caesar (Back Room Shakespeare Project), Macbeth (Oak Park Festival Theatre) and Shrewish (Artemisia Theatre), as well as performing on Chicago Fire. Savanna is an Artistic Associate with Oak Park Festival Theatre (credits include Maggie in Lovers, Russian Transport, and Daughters of Ire) and is represented by Shirley Hamilton Talent.
