RAGAN HUGHES

Ragan Hughes (she/her/hers) is a director, choreographer and performance coach at Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts in Oak Park, IL. Ragan also works at DDO Artists Agency as an agent’s assistant, where she works alongside a small team to provide administrative support for the Chicago office. After studying dance and on-camera/stage acting across Chicago, Ragan began to focus her passion for performance into theatrical education and training for young performers. Through her audition coaching, Ragan’s students have booked Network and Pilot TV (Showtime, NBC, Nickelodeon), Commercials, and Short Film work; as well as National Tours (Elf, Frozen) and in Chicago at the Paramount Theatre, Marriott Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, The Lyric Opera, Drury Lane Theatre and Disney’s Winnie the Pooh (Rockefeller Productions).

Having directed and choreographed nearly 40+ productions at Ovation Academy and BRAVO Performing Arts over 6 years, Ragan prides herself on combining theatrical excellence with a positive, confidence-building experience for young performers. Highlights of Ragan’s directorial experience include six years of attending the Junior Theater Festival, most notably being awarded “Outstanding Production” (West ’20, Virtual ’21, West ’23) and presenting a performance at the New Works Showcase (West ’22)

In addition to her work with Ovation Academy and DDO Artists Agency, Ragan has also worked as a Young Performer Supervisor with Marriott Theater (Oliver!, A Christmas Story), assisted production companies in locating young performers for professional auditions (Morton Arboretum, Hass & Swanton, CPA Theatricals, Marriott and Paramount Theatres), and worked as an Assistant Choreographer / Youth Supervisor with CPA Theatricals (Land of Forgotten Toys workshop).
