JACOB SIMON
Jacob Simon, a native of Deerfield, Illinois, has built a diverse career in musical theater. In 2019, he won Best Actor at the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards, going on to receive the Rising Star Award at the prestigious Jimmy Awards in New York City. He then studied musical theater at CCM before making his Off-Broadway debut in the original musical Penelope, or How the Odyssey Was Really Written. You can hear him on the show’s Original Cast Recording, available on Apple Music and Spotify.
Jacob later joined the Broadway national tour of Fiddler on the Roof, where he played Avram the bookseller and understudied the roles of Motel the tailor and Perchik the revolutionary. Over the course of 175 performances, he brought this timeless story to audiences across the U.S. and Canada.
A passionate advocate for new works, Jacob loves collaborating on the development of original musicals and plays. He has been involved in shaping new stories for the stage, including Surviving the Rosenthals, Fowl Play, and Paper Brigade, and finds great joy in bringing fresh perspectives and ideas to life.
As a teacher, Jacob values working from a place of love, fostering an environment where students feel supported, empowered, and free to explore movement and song with joy. He sees art-making as a restorative practice—one that nurtures both the body and spirit, allowing students of all levels to connect more deeply with themselves and their artistry.
