Covid-19 Safety Protocols
Updated 3/9/22. The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us, and we appreciate your adherance to our evolving protocols over these past 2 years!
Proof of Vaccination Order Lifted
On February 28, the Oak Park Department of Public Health lifted the order for businesses to require proof of vaccination or negative test results on entry. Ovation is therefore rescinding its requirement, and will no longer ask for vaccination cards or test results from our students, staff, or audience members.
Masking Optional Effective March 17, 2022
A large portion of Ovation Academy’s students attend District 97 public schools, whose mask mandate will end on March 17. In alignment with this change, Ovation will be going mask-optional that day as well.
Masks are still strongly recommended for any high-risk activities such as large-cast rehearsals, private lessons, and singing in small enclosed spaces. As the weather warms, many programs will move to our fenced-in courtyard for increased airflow.
Performances and Showcases
Showcases for the Winter 2022 class session will span either side of the March 17 policy change. We recommend keeping masks on for the remainder of this class session to provide a level of consistency for the students, but we will not require them after March 17.
Madison Street Theater, as the venue in which Ovation operates, may have its own policies regarding masking during public performances. Ovation adheres to all policies of its host venue. When purchasing tickets to shows, please keep an eye on MST’s guidelines when planning your visit.
Refunds
Refunds will not be provided for missed programming due to covid-related absences or isolation periods. In the event that Ovation cancels classes, shows or other programming due to covid-19, we will either provide virtual programming options or reschedule to the best of our ability. In the unlikely event that programming is cancelled and cannot be rescheduled or moved to a virtual platform, we will reach out to impacted families about refund options.
Questions
If you have questions, we ask that you speak to an Ovation staff member outside at drop off, email ovationacademyarts@gmail.com, or call the office during business hours, Monday-Friday from 9-5PM at 708.222.7564.
